Play in Control: Set Your Own Limits
Three habits keep a BetPro ID enjoyable: decide a monthly number before you deposit and treat it as spent, read your statement weekly rather than only when something looks wrong, and take a scheduled break. All three are things you set for yourself, and the desk will apply a deposit limit on request.
- Decide your monthly number before the first deposit, not during
- Read the statement weekly — it is the only objective record
- Ask the desk to set a deposit limit on your ID
- A cooling-off period can be applied on request
- This account is for adults 18 and over
Decide the number first
The single most useful habit is also the simplest: decide what you are comfortable spending in a month before you deposit anything, and treat that amount as spent the moment it leaves your wallet.
The reason to decide it in advance is that a calm decision and a mid-match decision are not the same decision. Written down beforehand, the number is a plan. Adjusted upward at 11pm during a chase, it is not a number at all.
A workable test: an amount that would change nothing important in your month if it were gone. Not “an amount I could recover”, not “an amount I expect to win back” — an amount whose absence you would not notice.
Set a limit you cannot casually undo
You do not have to rely on willpower for this. Ask the desk to apply a deposit limit to your ID — per day, per week or per month, whichever suits how you play.
Two things about how limits work:
- Lowering a limit is immediate. If you want less, you get less, now.
- Raising a limit is slower, on purpose. A limit you can raise instantly is not a limit; it is a suggestion.
Message the desk with the figure you want and it will be applied. There is no cost and no reason given is required.
Read the statement, weekly
Your statement lists every deposit, withdrawal, stake and settlement with a timestamp. It is the only record of your account that does not depend on how the last session felt.
Once a week, open it and do one piece of arithmetic: deposits minus withdrawals, over the last month. That single figure is what the account has actually cost or returned. Memory is not reliable here — a large win is memorable in a way that six small deposits are not, and the statement corrects for that automatically.
Set a repeating reminder for the same day each week. Two minutes.
Take breaks on purpose
Breaks work better when they are scheduled than when they are a reaction.
You can ask the desk for a cooling-off period of any length — a week, a month, longer. During it, your balance stays exactly where it is and the account simply does not accept deposits or new positions. Nothing is closed and nothing is lost; it pauses.
Smaller versions of the same idea, worth building in anyway:
- No account during working hours.
- One session per match day, not one per innings.
- A fixed stop time in the evening, and stick to it.
- A full week off after any unusually big session, up or down.
Signals worth acting on
Not warnings — just things that are genuinely worth noticing in yourself, because they are the ones people recognise afterwards:
- You are depositing more often than you planned to, in smaller amounts.
- You are checking mid-match more than you are watching the match.
- A session is being extended to get back to level rather than ending at a set time.
- You would rather not say out loud what this month’s total was.
- You are opening the app first thing in the morning.
If two or three of those are true, the useful move is a scheduled break and a lower deposit limit — both of which are one message away, and neither requires explaining yourself.
Keep it one account, for one adult
- This account is for adults aged 18 and over.
- Open it for yourself. Never for someone else, and never on someone else’s behalf.
- Do not share the login. A shared ID is one where nobody can reconstruct who did what.
- Fund it from your own wallet. Besides being the rule for payouts, it keeps the record clean.
Where to get support
If you want to talk to someone independent about gambling habits — yours or a family member’s — organisations such as GamCare and Gambling Therapy offer free, confidential support online and in multiple languages, with no account or country requirement.
For anything about your BetPro ID specifically — a deposit limit, a cooling-off period, or closing the account entirely — message the desk on the contact page. All three are free, and none of them require a reason.

I contacted BetPro ID when I was having trouble with registration. They explained the process clearly and helped me understand what I needed to do.
The WhatsApp support was helpful. I had a few questions and received clear answers without having to explain everything again.
I was stuck during the registration process, but the support team guided me through the steps. Much easier after that.
